I'm Hana, a psychology graduate from the Australian National University. I was born in Japan, raised in Singapore, and lived in Australia, so I'm a walking amalgamation of cultures.
As a budding researcher, my interests are centered around visual attention and cognition. My honors thesis examined top-down attention in older adults, and was completed under the supervision of Dr. Stephanie Goodhew.
Outside of research, I dance, volunteer, and listen to true crime podcasts.

Transient Workers Count Too
I volunteer once a week with The Cuff Road Project. We provide meal tokens for beneficiaries, and talk to migrant workers who are in the midst of dealing with salary disputes and injury claims.
As of mid-2021, I've joined TWC2's public engagement team. I give external talks about migrant workers and the (un)ethical landscape of it in Singapore.
I recently wrote on what migrant workers prioritize as with regards to their daily needs - here is the report.

True crime podcast recommendations
Perhaps an implicit commentary on the horrors of honors year in Australia, I became very engrossed in true crime podcasts while writing my thesis. Here are some of my recommendations:
2017
"Oh, but where are you really from?" Woroni Radio
I joined a friend's radio show that aimed at amplifying the opinions and comments of people of color in our university, given the very white-centric narrative that dominated the issues in our college lives. Here is a link to our interview.
